New Devil May Cry Trailer Balances the Timeless Combo of Swordplay and Male Nudity

I’m calling it here and now: Naked Dante will be a day one DLC skin. Ninja Theory gives us a taste of their new Dante’s ‘tude in this trailer and some of what’s displayed recalls a certain white-haired demon slayer of the distant past – whether that proves to be unwelcome retread or respectful homage is up in the...

Resident Evil 6 and Devil May Cry Info Incoming

Brett Elston, Capcom’s online community manager, teased fans last night with these words, forever immortalized in tweet form:

If you want more details on RE6 and DmC, I daresay you should be looking at the internet Tuesday morning…

We’ve seen quite a bit of DmC as it is except without the faintest hint as to when it’s coming out; a summer release date is all I wish to hear of.  On the opposite spectrum, we know when to expect the next Resident Evil – we just don’t know what to expect.  All this talk of planting the series in the action-shooter market to remain a contender is enough to turn my stomach, but I cannot physically contain my excitement for the sixth game.  It’s becoming a problem, my doctor says.

Forget April 3rd, Get the Devil May Cry HD Collection Right Now

Someone out there thought street dates were for suckers and Capcom agreed.  So instead of waiting for Dante’s essential classics (plus Devil May Cry 2), go ahead and pick up a copy of the DMC HD Collection for either your Playstation 3 or Xbox 360 today.  Don’t believe me?  Ask Capcom:

This title was offered at retail ahead of its previously scheduled April 3rd release date, so consumers can now enjoy this great collection one week earlier than expected.

So some pioneering retailer broke street date, knowingly or not (but probably knowingly), and Capcom shrugged, conceding to the fact people were happily buying the collection?  I think you know what this means… Street dates have forever been shattered.

DmC: Devil May Cry (PS3/Xbox 360)

Hoo-mama, if a game could be judged on looks alone, DmC would be a hit.  But the true test of this reboot’s mettle will come the day when fans can get behind the wheel of Ninja Theory’s new Dante.  I’m highly anticipating the dev’s take on the story; they can flex their narrative muscle without flinching.  It’s just their gameplay mechanics that can be called into question from time to time (yeah, I’m calling you out, Enslaved).

In the past, Devil May Cry has made it paramount to deliver intricate yet easily accessible hack n’ slash gameplay for all skill sets.  Mastering Dante in the past could mean smashing buttons wildly for some players and memorizing strings of decimating combos like one would in a fighting game for others.  So long as they retain the gameplay edge that made this series famous, Ninja Theory has free reign to mold Devil May Cry into whatever the hell they want, as far as I’m concerned.
